Senior Strategic Operations Manager, Grocery & Retail - Merchandising

About the Role

Grocery and Retail is a fast-growing startup within Uber that enables consumers to get just about anything delivered through the Uber Eats app or UberEats.com. As a Sr. Strategic Operations Manager, you will be directly responsible a specific portion of the Grocery and Retail business and contribute to our efforts to improve the experience and growth across grocery, convenience, and alcohol, ensuring a quality and reliable experience for consumers, merchants and/or earners - all implementing tools & processes making our business operations more efficient.

You will work cross-functionally with other teams (i.e. Support, Operations, Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal) to lead high impact initiatives that can scale new lines of business across the US & Canada while offering ownership and autonomy over your work as we exponentially grow this new arm of the Uber Eats business.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategy: Build business plans to operate optimally, making our Grocery and Retail business efficient and the experience better for end users
  • Data analysis: Design, execute, and automate processes to run and optimize the business performance and reliability. You will autonomously build your own analyses and dashboards to measure your projects' success
  • Experiment: Perform analysis and experiments to find growth opportunities for the Grocery and Retail business
  • Be voice of the customer internally: Be the eyes and ears to our product team for the features that we need for next year’s big bets, helping to prioritize future application changes and launch new product features as we go to market
  • Stakeholder management: Orchestrate and bring together the work of a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, Product, Marketing, Account Management, Policy, Communications, and Legal while driving accountability to ensure deadlines are met
  • Project management: Identify, plan, and implement projects backed by root cause analyses to improve our existing processes and policies for consumers, merchants and/or earners

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional work experience in a related field (consulting, operations, strategy, analytics, tech, investment banking)
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Foundational to advanced SQL proficiency, or experience working with a similar program
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
  • Experience problem solving and proposing unique solutions to complex issues
  • Strong experience building and executing complex processes
  • Proven ability to balance multiple critical tasks and consistently deliver against hard deadlines
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills - building deep, trust-based relationships with territory and cross functional teams
  • Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly develop strategies and make decisions

For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$111,000 per year - CAD$123,500 per year.
