About the Role

Our Operations teams work where Uber's technology meets the real world. We are the local eyes on the ground, own country-specific business outcomes and bridge our overall business strategy with local needs.

The Senior Operations Manager, Marketplace is a critical role within the organization. In this role, you will contribute to setting the vision, direction, and priorities for the Marketplace Operations team. The team's mission is to use data and operational levers to redesign and optimize the way we operate our marketplace in the Netherlands, improve decision making and impact business outcomes. You will be overseeing and working on projects that could span across an array of topics, ranging from marketplace efficiency, reliability, performance management and tooling.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  • Work to continuously improve the efficiency, health and reliability of the Marketplace in the Netherlands
  • Project management and execution: Design, execute and project manage multiple projects from A-Z in a constantly changing, complex environment
  • Data Analytics: Use data to improve decision making and impact business outcomes across the Netherlands
  • Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management: Manage a complex set of stakeholders distributed across Local and Regional Operations Teams, Automation, Legal, Support, Risk, Tax, manage external partners and more
  • Process building & Tooling: Collaborate closely with our regional operations and automation teams to set up, test and roll out new processes, tools or products that improve the Marketplace
  • People Support: Manage, coach, and take a deep interest in the career development of the members of your team

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general operations management, with a focus on program management, operational management, consulting or similar fields.
  • Data driven mentality and sound business judgment with an eye for process improvement and operations optimization
  • 2+ years experience in leading a team
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Strategic and analytical in hitting goals
  • Proficiency in English is required

  • Collected and calm under pressure: you have superb organizational and interpersonal skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks, and operate well under pressure and tight timeframes
  • Prior experience leading changes to business, including expansion, integration, and partnering with 3rd parties
  • Hands-on, creative solutions driven mentality: with a ‘let’s get it done’ attitude and strong business acumen
  • Open, curious and eager to learn: you are interested in all things and can build up skills and knowledge fast to become a recognized subject matter expert amongst your peers
  • Advanced written, verbal, and visual communication skills: you have the proven track record to influence and drive consensus with varying audiences and levels of an organization (front line to management)
  • Passionate about Uber: you love Uber and moving people in all senses of the word, and you have an innovative, proactive, and passionate approach to your work

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity.
