About the Role

Uber is one of the largest and most complex global merchants, processing over $100B annually in payments across 70+ countries. The Partnerships team is a core pillar of the Global Payments Group and is responsible for partnering with Uber’s global payment partners to drive the strategic and operational infrastructure required to power Uber’s payments platform. This team is critical to opening new geographies and product lines, reducing unit economics, and improving the user experience through enhanced payment solutions.

This role’s primary focus will be to represent the Partnerships team in Brazil, in collaboration with members of the Partnerships team in LATAM region. This role will be leading strategic payment initiatives and relationship management of our payment partners in Brazil and will support other payments initiatives across LATAM region.

What you'll do

  • Forge new and enhance existing strategic payment relationships in Brazil; lead operational workstreams and support technical development
  • Support negotiations by identifying opportunities and building the business case
  • Work cross-functionally (e.g. Product, Engineering, Business Development, Legal, Finance and Payments Compliance) to design and build critical payment systems
  • Partner internally with regional business owners and LOBs to provide valuable payment insights and drive strategic alignment within the company

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in payments in Brazil - either focusing on the topic at a merchant, issuing bank, acquirer, network and/or payment processor
  • In-depth experience working with multiple stakeholders, including external partners
  • Demonstrated experience leading efforts from start-to-finish with limited guidance
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of operations experience at a high-growth tech company or payments company
  • Experience in other countries in the LATAM region
  • Advanced knowledge of card-not-present, alternative payments, bank payment standards and/or risk mitigation solutions
  • Ability to partner with teams to ensure any dependencies that they may have are unblocked in a timely manner
  • Fluent in Spanish
